The Life of Miriam A. "Mims" Byrd

 Obituary - Miriam A. “Mims” (nee Bryson) Byrd, 95, of Wallingford, PA, died September 16, 2017 at home. Born and raised in Haddonfield, she had formerly been a resident of Brookhaven and Upper Darby before moving in with her son in 2016. Miriam, or “Byrdie”, as she was known by some of her colleagues, had been employed as a Registered Nurse at Phila General Hospital and had worked at the Delaware County Prison well into her 80's. She also volunteered for the Peace Corps and served in Yemen until unrest forced withdrawal of American citizens.  Miriam most enjoyed time with her family and was an avid reader. She was the mother of Anthony (Tina) Byrd, the late Michael and the late Richard Byrd. Also surviving are 6grandchildren, Gwyneth (Byrd), Rebecca (Griffith), Candice (Byrd), Richard (Byrd), Christopher (Byrd) and Michael (Byrd); 5 great-grandchildren,  Michael, William, Emily, Benjamin and   Brian

Service: Miriam's family will hold a private time of remembrance.
