Mrs. Eleanor H. Hobdell of Springfield, PA, died on September 25, 2017 at the Broomall Rehabilition and Nursing Center.
Born
in Deland, FL, Mrs. Hobdell was a graduate of Upper Darby High School
and later the Pierce Business School in Philadelphia. She was a
resident of Springfield for over 65 years.
Mrs. Hobdell was a
member of Covenant United Methodist Church and the Springfield Womens’
Club. She was a former den mother of Scout Troop
#227. She enjoyed gardening, and genealogy, and was a lover of the
arts. An amateur artist, she also loved music and the theater.
She
is survived by two sons, Robert and John Hobdell, two grandsons, Sean
and Nelson IV, and a great-grandson, Zebulon. She was predeceased by
her husband, Nelson P. Hobdell, Jr., a son Nelson P. Hobdell III, a
sister, Judith Dexter and a brother, Joseph Haigh.
Relatives and
friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday, September 28, after 9:00
AM at the Covenant United Methodist Church, 212 W. Springfield Road,
Springfield, PA 19064 followed immediately by her funeral service at
10:00 AM.
Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
