The Life of Helen Jean James

Helen Jean James went Home to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 after suffering a long illness. She was 89. Helen was born and raised in Philadelphia. She accepted the Lord at an early age. She was educated at Bordentown Boarding School. Further, she attended Cheney University of Pennsylvania. She worked as a financial advisor at a Five and Dime store, Palmyra, N.J., after which she continued in that occupation at Sears Bank, Roosevelt Boulevard, Philadelphia. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Frank T. James (Joanne) of Willingboro; daughter, Cheryl J. Hill of Gurnee, Ill., grandsons, Sgt. Carl J. Hill, Troy Twyne (Verna), and Lamont Howard; granddaughter, Megan Foucher (Kwame); great grandson, Kwame Jr.; great granddaughters, Milan, Soleil, Giselle; one sister-in-law, Virginia Carter of Cinnaminson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, 300 Penn St., Riverton. Viewing hours will 9 to 11 a.m. only. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
