The Life of Norman Lally
Norman A. Lally, a resident of Reading for over 60 years, died peacefully at his home on September 14, 2017. He was 96 years of age.
Norman was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on December 21, 1920 the son of the late Arthur and Anna (Mahar) Lally. Norman worked for Boston & Maine Railroad for 44 years retiring as a General Agent in 1982. Norman proudly served his country during WW II and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy.
Norman was the beloved husband of the late Ruth A. (Duffy) Lally. Loving grandfather of Kassidy M. Lally of Reading and loving great grandfather of Liam J. Dennison. He was the devoted father of the late Stephen J. and John W. Lally.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday September 19 at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading at 11:00AM. Burial to follow with military honors at The Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery in W. Roxbury. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00am-11:00AM.
