The Life of Margaret M. Daveler

Margaret R. “Peg” (nee Reiley) Daveler, 96, of Downingtown, formerly of Drexel Hill, died September 12, 2017 at Pocopson Home.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, she had raised her family in Drexel Hill before moving to the Downingtown area almost 25 years ago. A graduate of West Catholic High School, Peg had been employed as the Office Manager, Board Secretary and Treasurer at Arlington Cemetery for over 30 years before retiring in 1997.

She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Downingtown and active in their Prime Timers Senior group. While living in Delaware County, she was a member of St. Bernadette of Lourdes Parish. 

Peg enjoyed reading and spending time at the family's home in Buttonwood Beach on the Chesapeake. Boating on the Bay and spending time with her family was as good as it got. 

Beloved wife of the late Raymond C. Daveler who died in 1982, survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen M.  and Edward C. Cross, Sr., grandchildren, Edward  C., Jr. (Jenna), Brian (Shannon) and Kelly (Jimmy) Cross and great-grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Caiden, Owen and Ryan.  

Service: Funeral Service will be 12noon, Friday at the Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill, PA 19026, where friends may call after 11AM.

 Interment: Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.

Our Avon Lady

I remember being excited for Mrs. Daveler's visits with her cache of Avon samples. So many pretty colors of makeup and wonderful smelling creams and fragrances. She was always smiling and cheerful and fun to talk to. A fond memory of my childhood.
