Jerold L. "Cookie", Cook, Sr.
September 23, 1949 - August 21, 2017

Jerold L. Cook, Sr. “Cookie” 67 of Earleville, MD, died August 21, 2017 in Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.

 

Cookie was born on September 23, 1949 in Darby, PA, son of the late Joseph and Jeannette Leighton Cook.

 

He was raised in the Collingdale-Aldan area where he was a graduate of Lansdowne-Aldan High School.

 

His career as a bus driver spanned of 46 years working for Marple Newtown School District in PA and Adam-Kunda K & B Bus Service locally.

 

He started the transportation program for the Westtown School in 2007. His memberships include Cecilton Lions Club, Harbor North Yacht Club, Coast Guard Auxiliary, retired), Lower Cecil Co. Senior Citizens and Nur Temple in Delaware. He was active with the Cecilton, Hacks Point and Chesapeake City V.F. Companies, serving as fire police captain.

 

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Joseph Cook.

 

Cookie is survived by his wife of 16 years, Judi Mackey Cook; children, Jerold Cook Jr, (Diana) of Maple Shade, NJ, James Cook (Randi) of Maple Shade, NJ, Kimberly Cook of FL, George Armington of Cochranville, PA, Jared Armington of Cecilton and Chase Armington (Emily) of North East and 3 grandchildren, Peyton Cook, Austin Cook and Christopher Armington.

 

Burial will be held in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA on Monday, August 28 at 12 pm.
