The Life of Doris M. Miller

Doris M. Miller of Glen Mills and formerly of Sharon Hill and Aston, passed away on August 19, 2017 at Maris Grove Senior Living.

She was born on December 15, 1931 to Louis and Carrie Medlen. Doris was a graduate of Sharon Hill High School and the Taylor Business School in Philadelphia. She worked at the Presbyterian Minister's Fund and Atlantic Refining. On September 13, 1952, she married Charles J. Miller Jr. and they were together for over 63 years until his death on December 18, 2015.

As a member of the Tully Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sharon Hill, Doris was a Sunday School teacher, a Deacon, a choir member and later the director of the Handbell Choir. She was also the organist at St. John's Lutheran Church in Folcroft for thirty-five years. There she also worked with Charlie who was the choir director for 40 years. Doris was also a librarian at the Sharon Hill Library and a volunteer for the United Way and Taylor Hospital.

She is predeceased by her loving husband Charlie and her dear granddaughter Rebekah.

She is survived by her son David (Peggy) of Ocean City, NJ and grandson John. Son Craig (Donna) of Johnstown, PA., and grandsons, Tim (Miriam) of NYC, Andrew of Austin, TX.

Interment: Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.
