The Life of Sandra Lee Sleister

Sande Sleister, 76, of Olathe, KS, passed away August 14, 2017, at her home. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 10:00 am at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 306 E. Madison, Gardner, KS. Funeral will follow at 11:00 am. Sande will be laid to rest at Olathe Memorial Cemetery, Olathe, KS at 2:00 pm Friday. Sande was born April 30, 1941 in Denison, IA to Harold and Genevieve (Malone) Stender. She grew up in Iowa, but moved to the Kansas City area in early 1970. Sande graduated in 1959 from Denison High School and attended college. Sande married Wayne Zeigler on February 14, 1981 in Olathe, KS. She worked at Manildra Milling from 1986 to 2017, where she was a Corporate Officer. Sande was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church in Gardner, KS, and formally a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Olathe. She was very active in her church, as well as ESA, Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority. Sande enjoyed catering, was an accomplished seamstress, loved arranging flowers and took pleasure in baking cakes for weddings and many other events. Sande will be dearly missed by family and friends. 

Sande was preceded in death by her husband and parents. She is survived by her children Anthony “Tony” Sleister, Olathe, KS and Michael (Manja) Sleister, Edgerton, KS; two grandchildren, Nicolaus “Nick” and Alexander “Alex”; and sister, Cheryl Kloewer, Albany, OR.
