The Life of ROGER DAVID LAFARY
Roger David LaFary passed away July 22, 2017, at Mercy Hospice, Johnston, Iowa. Roger attended East High School and was a member of the January graduating class of 1963. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, 4th Calvary, in 1963, and was honorably discharged in 1965. During his service, he received the Marksman Rifle and Vietnam Service Award Medals. He also earned medals for the Vietnam Campaign and Presidential Unit Citation for Vietnam Vets of those who served during eligible service periods.
Roger’s wife, Kris; sons, Ernie (Krysta), Dave, Rob (Carrie) and Joe; grandchildren, Myah Stout, Hannah Livingston, Spencer Stout, Brody Stout, and Maddux Stout; sister, Leila Heck, and brother, Dale LaFary to cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow services at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
