The Life of Armenouhi Nalbantian

Armenouhi “Armen” Nalbantian, 83 of Broomall, PA passed away peacefully Saturday 15 July 2017.

She was born in Damascus, Syria to Boghos and Mariam Souvalian on 24 December 1934. She lived in Cairo, Egypt and Beirut, Lebanon before immigrating to the USA to settle in Philadelphia, PA in 1972. 

She was proceeded in death by her brothers Manuel, Sarkis, Abraham and Levon Souvalian and her sister-in-law, Anna (Nalbantian) Tahtabrounian.  She is survived by her husband of 59 years, David Nalbantian; her children, Serge Nalbantian and Shogie Shammassian and their spouses Sarah Hagearty Nalbantian and Hrant Shammassian; and, her grandchildren Berje Shammassian, Tamar Shammassian Tchoulhakian (Harout), Kira Nalbantian and Julien Nalbantian. In addition, she leaves her brother-in-law, Michel Nalbantian (Sonia) and cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention by name living in the US, Canada, Europe and the Middle East.

Armen was a devoted mother and grandmother who always made time for family.  She was an accomplished cook and seamstress and created beautiful handiwork. She will be remembered for keeping her family fed, clothed and loved.

Services will be held at St. Sahag & St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 630 Clothier Road, Wynnewood, PA 19096 on Saturday, July 22nd at 11:00 am followed by interment at Arlington Cemetery.  Family and friends are welcome to attend her calling hour at 10:00 am
