The Life of Thomas J. Jr. Gallagher

1949-2017 Thomas J. Gallagher, Jr., age 67, of Thornton, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at home.

Born in Darby, he had been a resident of Collingdale for over 25 years before moving to Thornton 31 years ago. He was a graduate of Collingdale High School, Class of 1967, and earned an Associate Degree from Peirce Junior College.

Tom was a third generation plumber who owned and operated John Gallagher & Sons, a plumbing and heating business since 1923. He was a member and trustee of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, a life member of Darby Fire Patrol No. 2, and a member of the Collingdale High School Alumni Association.

He enjoyed boating in his spare time. Tom was a loving husband, father, Pop Pop, and friend to everyone who met him.

He is survived by his wife, Gail (nee Edwards) Gallagher, and his children, Sherri L. Gallagher, Tom Gallagher III, and Wendy Gallagher. Also survived by his grandsons, Landon and Noah Gallagher, and his sisters, Dottie Emsley, Joan Gallagher, and Ann Pearson.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service 10 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 4 Westtown Road, Thornton. There will be a Viewing 6-9 p.m. Thursday evening and 9-10 a.m. Friday morning at the church.

Burial at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
