The Life of ANDREW EUDELL PURCELL

Andrew E. Purcell passed away on April 6, 2015 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born on June 6, 1964 at the U.S. Military hospital in Wiesbaden, Germany to Amos and Anneliese (Todt) Purcell. He graduated from Technical High School in Des Moines. As a skilled mechanic he could repair just about anything including automobiles, motorcycles, cuckoo clocks and pinball machines. He worked for 18 years in concrete construction before becoming a truck driver. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, Golden Tee video golf, flying kites and fishing. Friends and family will remember him for his willingness to help out anyone at any time.

Survivors include his father, Amos Purcell, Sr. of Des Moines; three brothers, David (Nina) of North Carolina; Dennis (Kathy) of Colona, IL and Amos, Jr. (Jacquelyn) of Altoona; half brother, Terry of Carter Lake, IA; half sister, Connie (Mike) Oberender of Sheldahl, half brother, Matt of Iowa; nine nieces and nephews; and friend, Darlene Steinbach of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his mother and half brother, Ronald. 

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 at Iles Grandview Park Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
