Janice Eileen Michael
Riles, age 74, of West Haven, CT passed away peacefully on June 14, 2017 at
Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was the beloved
wife of the late Edward Riles Jr. and the daughter of the late Adeline Ruth Moore
Lane. She is survived by her children Angela Sykes of West Haven and Edward
(Darlene) Riles III of MD, her grandchildren Shanté Sykes, Alesha Riles and
Edward “Mook” Riles IV, her great grandsons Deron Dickerson, Edward Riles V and
Devonté Campbell, her siblings Ava Johnson and Thomas Lane both of VA. A
special nephew/son DáVelle Johnson also of VA, a special daughter Crystal
Campbell of West Haven, her step father Thomas Lane of Hamden and a host of
relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her sisters Marlene Byrd and
Rosalie Michael and her brother Marvin Michael. Janice worked for the Hamden
Board of Educations for 35 years prior to her retirement. She was the secretary
for Gloria Jeans School of Dance, an active member of the Allingtown Senior Center
and the West Haven Italian American Club.
