The Life of LOIS MARIE ROBINSON

Lois Marie Robinson, 86, was born July 21, 1930 to Robert and Martha Michael in Bondurant, Iowa. She passed away on May 8th, 2017 of heart failure while rehabilitating from a hip fracture in Cornelius, NC. Although she spent most of her life in Iowa, she moved from Des Moines in 2010.

She graduated in 1948 from Altoona Independent High School. Later that year, she married Richard (Lefty) Robinson, and became a homemaker and loving mother to five children.

Lois was a gentle influence in a family of adventurers, calmly living in the world of stock cars, Nascar, race promotion, and truck jumping. She enjoyed collecting antiques, and started a furniture refinishing business called "The Trunk Yard" with her friend. She was a member of Highland Park Christian Church.

She is survived by four daughters; Sandra Moran of Des Moines, Stacey Edwards of Sherrills Ford, NC, Stephaney (Neil) Abilon of Sullivans Island, SC and Shawna Robinson of Sherrills Ford, NC, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lefty, son Bland, grandson Rich, and two brothers and two sisters.

A memorial service was held in North Carolina and a graveside service and burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery on Tuesday, May 23 at 1:00 pm in Des Moines.
