The Life of Robert R. Zarr III

Robert R. Zarr, III, 88, lifelong resident of Ridley Park died April 23, 2017, at Riddle Memorial Hospital.

Born in Upper Darby, he was the son of the late Robert R., Jr. and Edith Jamison Zarr. Robert was a graduate of Ridley Park High School, class of 1947 and graduated from Penn State University with a BS in Forestry in 1951.

He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War and received the National Defense Service Ribbon. Robert was employed as a Sales Rep for Stockwell Elastomerics from 1998-2009 and previously worked for Connecticut Hard Rubber Co. from 1969-1998.

He was an active member of the Ridley Park Presbyterian Church where he was a Member of Session, a Trustee, a Deacon, and the Narrator of the Christmas Pageant for over 40 years. Robert was active with the Fabulous 40’s Ridley Park High School reunion committee. He was an avid Phillies and Flyers Fan and enjoyed bird watching. Most of all, Robert loved being with his family, especially his five grandsons.

He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Dugan Zarr, who died November 27, 2016.

Robert was the father of Robert R. Zarr, IV (Su), Warren I. Zarr (Beth) and Mary Elizabeth Reynolds; and the grandfather of Timmy and Aaron Reynolds and Tyler, Adam, and Nathan Zarr

Visitation: after 9:30 AM Saturday at the Ridley Park Presbyterian Church.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Ridley Park Presbyterian Church, 300 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park

Burial: Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
