The Life of SHARON L ORR
Sharon Orr, formerly of Sioux City, died after a short battle with cancer on February 19, 2017, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
She was born May 20, 1940, to George and Lela Stolpe of Sioux City and was one of nine children. Sharon later moved to Des Moines where she resided for 40 years before moving back to Sioux City.
She loved shopping garage sales, second hand shops, and visiting the casino, but most of all she loved being with her children and grandchildren, cooking for them and giving them much love – it was reciprocated. We will miss her so very much.
Sharon is survived by her children, Jolene (Kenny) White, Karlene (Pat) McVay, and Scott (Deena) Orr; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; as well as her siblings, other extended relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Roger “Bub” Orr; and 5 siblings.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
Memorials will be received by the family and donated to a cause close to her heart.
