The Life of Cecile Statkevich
Cecile Marie Statkevich, age 85, beloved wife of John Statkevich of Shelton,
entered into eternal rest on April 20, 2017 at Griffin Hospital. Born in Waterbury on
December 31, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rebecca
(Archambault) Lavoie. Mrs. Statkevich was a homemaker and worked in the
production departments at Rasbach Photo and Nitsuko America Companies of
Shelton, until the time of her retirement. A longtime resident of Shelton, she was a
devout member of St. Margaret Mary Church. Together with her husband, she
enjoyed traveling the world although her passion and love were her family and
grandchildren. In addition to her husband of 55 years, she is survived by her three
devoted sons, Paul (Anita) Statkevich of NJ, Joseph (Lisa) Statkevich of
Southington, and Peter (Kimberly) Statkevich of Shelton; cherished grandchildren, Andrew and Amanda
Statkevich of NJ, Alexander and Stephen Statkevich of Southington, and Peter, Emily and Brooke Statkevich of
Shelton; a brother, Raymond Lavoie of Southington; and a sister, Claire Macdonald of Waterbury; as well as
many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters. Funeral services will take place on
Monday, April 24, 2017 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane,
Shelton. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call at the funeral
home on Sunday, April 23, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of
