The Life of RAYMOND JACK LANG

Raymond Jack Lang, 90, of Montezuma, Iowa, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on February 16, 2017, during his annual winter visit to family in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He entered this world on May 28, 1926, in Des Moines, IA, born to Raymond and Ila (Zeber) Lang.

Jack was proud of his service as a Sergeant in the Army during WWII from 1944-1946. He was an employee of Firestone for 31 years, Iowa Department of Treasury for 9 years, and Montezuma Public Schools for 14 years. Jack was known for his passion in restoring Model A cars, and was a lifelong member of the Central Iowa Model A Club, serving in all officer positions and receiving the Darr Award. He was also a member of the Lions Club and was a recipient of the Iowa Lions Foundation Warren Coleman Award. Jack enjoyed building two homes, and traveling and camping with his family and dogs.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; sister, Janice (Evans); and son, Shawn. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Audrey (Stoneking); children, Polly Snodgrass, Todd (Anita) Lang, Gary (Cindy) Rogers, Sandra (Mark) Ekman, and Scott Lang; brother, Jerry (Gloria) Lang; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017, at 4:30 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming in Albuquerque; and on Monday, March 13, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Montezuma United Methodist Church, 200 S. 4th St., Montezuma, IA. Interment with military honors will take place on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.
