The Life of KRISTINE DIANE SMITH
Kristine (Mack) Smith went home to heaven on Saturday, February 19th. She was born to Lewis & Oral Mack in Des Moines on November 26th, 1946. She grew up in Farnhamville, IA and graduated from Cedar Valley High School in 1966. She then graduated from AIB in Des Moines. While attending AIB, she met and fell in love with Jerry Smith. They were married on April 20th, 1968.
They moved to Huxley, IA in 1978 where she continued her in home daycare.
This was a true passion and calling for her as she faithfully served families for 40 years. She did her best to show the love of Jesus with every child she watched.
Kris will be remembered by her love of kids, her selfless ministry to many, and her deep faith. One of her many passions was her grandchildren. Her house was constantly filled with their laughter and her joy. One of her ministries was caring and praying for the children and families of New Hope Assembly of God where she was a member.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, and daughter Traci (Smith) Thrailkill. She is survived by her brother Craig (Diane) Mack, daughter Niki (Matt) Towers, son Brian (Jamie) Smith, grandkids: Sydni, Dylan, Mitchell, Koy, Ethan, Kayla, Blake, and Garrett.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 22nd from 5-7 p.m. at Westover Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Thursday, February 23rd at 10:30 a.m. at New Hope Assembly of God in Urbandale.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family for a memorial to be designated at a later date.
