Marjorie Marie (Fees) Speck, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. There will be a graveside service at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Avenue, Des Moines at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016.

Marjorie was born June 18, 1936, in Polk City, Iowa to Raymond and Olive (Lumsdon) Fees. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandma. She enjoyed watching the Cubs play ball, Bingo, and in her younger years being outside fishing and camping, but most of all she cherished time spent with her family and friends. Marjorie was a fan of old black and white movies, mainly westerns, liked watching soap operas, and collected anything of Garfield’s.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary and son-in-law, Myles Burgan, her four grandchildren, David, Brian, Lisa and Jimi, 25 great grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren; brother, John Fees and his family; many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Larry, great-grandson, Nathaniel, and a great-great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Marjorie.
