Eldon Carpenter, 84, Olathe, KS, passed away November 10, 2016.  Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, at Grace United Methodist Church, 11485 Ridgeview Road, Olathe, KS.

Eldon was born August 25, 1932 in Independence, MO, son of Clyde and Esther Carpenter.  He was an Air Force veteran.  He was a small business owner and worked in the credit finance business for many years.  He loved children and they loved him.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling (in an RV), square dancing, family and friends.

Eldon is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan; children Paul (Becky), Gary (Oria), and Marlene Abbey; sister, Lois Warner and brother David (Sherry); grandchildren Paula Bate, Luke and Joshua Abbey and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Grace United Methodist Church.
