The Life of DAVID DUANE VAUGHN SLAUGHTER
David Slaughter, 72, passed away October 14, 2016, at Trinity Medical Center in Carrollton, Texas. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on June 16, 1944, the son of Samuel and Floretta Vaughn.
David was a loving father and grandfather. He was a gun enthusiast and lover of all animals. David also enjoyed watching movies.
David is survived by his children, Todd (Vanessa) Benson, Jack (Nicky) Miller, and Tina (Derrick) Thomas; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other loving family and friends. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his daughter, Toni Slaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association in loving memory of David.
