The Life of Ernest Wheeler


Ernest Wheeler, age 86, husband of the late Joan McDonnell Wheeler and resident of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest Sept. 25, 2016. He was born Feb. 13, 1930 in Ansonia, son of the late Alfred & Alice Lewis Wheeler. He was a parishioner, former Eucharistic minister & chairperson of the homeless meals committee of the Church of the Assumption. He was also a life member and Past Captain of The Eagle Hose Fire Company and a member of Ansonia’s Senior Center. He was the manager of the Service Dept. of Fitzpatrick Inc. in Ansonia until retirement. He leaves his daughters Michelle Gill (Daniel) of Montclair, N.J., Christine Moskowitz (Bruce) of Staten Island, N.Y., son Kevin Wheeler (Susan) of Seymour, five grandsons Brendon (Alixon), Connor (Dai), Patrick (Sarah), John (Nicole) & Matthew, three granddaughters Kiara (Brian), Jessica (David) & Lydia, great grandsons Gabriel & Adrian and great granddaughters Kristen & Josephina. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brother Kenneth and 3 sisters Evelyn Kuzma, Marion Swan & Shirley Dube. Friends may call on Thursday at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Sept. 30 at 10:00 a.m. (DIRECTLY) at The Church of the Assumption, 61 N.
