The Life of ROY JOHN BARLAGE

Roy Barlage, 89, passed away on August 24, 2016, at Regency Park of Jefferson. He was born in Cincinnati, OH on November 26, 1926, to Raymond and Marie Barlage.

Roy was an Army veteran proudly serving his country in WWII. He worked at Fair Play Scoreboards and as a Biomed Electronic Technician at Mercy Hospital, retiring in 1989.

After retirement, he and Marcy lived at Sun Valley Lake for 7 years where he enjoyed fishing and indulging in crab legs. Roy and Marcy became huge supporters of all high school sports and musicals after moving to Jefferson. He was truly their #1 fan and all the kids he was blessed to know became like his own. Roy loved taking pictures and videos of the kids excelling at their many talents. He was always given special seats at all the events, with kids visiting him and gifting their beloved banners to Roy.

Roy is survived by his loving wife, Marcy Barlage; children, Marcia Barlage, John (Sheila) Barlage, Barb (Brent) Carlston, Mary (Steve) Montigne, Rob (Terry) Barlage and Jeanne Wicker; step-sons, Larry Shockey and Bill Shockey; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rae; brother, Joe; son, Jim; and granddaughter, Kelli.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Christ Lutheran Church, 1201 South Elm (Hwy 4), Jefferson. The family will receive visitors at the church starting at 11:00 a.m., until service time.
