The Life of KAREN ANNE KEPHART

KAREN A. KEPHART, 64, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Friday evening August 19, 2016 in Careage Hills at Cherokee, Iowa.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 23rd from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a prayer service and time of sharing memories at 6:30 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Pastor Karen Handke will officiate. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 24th at 1 p.m. at the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.

Karen was born on December 31, 1951 at Osceola, Iowa to Lon and Maxine (Maness) Bottorff. She graduated from Osceola High School. She was married to Gerald D. Kephart on June 11, 1977 at Zephyr Cove, Nevada. Karen had worked for the Laundry Service at Tyson’s in Cherokee for many years, retiring when the plant closed. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years; she loved her dogs, spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren, and shopping.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gerald Kephart on November 1, 1990, two sisters Donna Maness and Norma Maness.

She is survived by her two sons: Christopher Dean Kephart and his wife Kari of Cherokee, Iowa; Brian Alan Kephart and his wife Rebecca of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandchildren Bella and Miles.
