The Life of Elizabeth Yavorsky Klischer


Elizabeth Klischer, age 84, beloved wife of Donald W. Klischer of Derby, died peacefully on August 19, 2016 at Yale­New Haven Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Mt. Carmel, PA on July 31, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Prokofy and Elizabeth Tartar Yavorsky. Mrs. Klischer worked for the Knights of Columbus Insurance Co. for 14 years in the payments and receipts department, until her retirement in 1996. Prior to the K of C, she worked for 14 years as the Milford Branch Manager for CT Bank and Trust. A devoted member of Three Saints Orthodox Church for over 50 years, Mrs. Klischer tirelessly and unselfishly volunteered in countless functions and on many church committees. She loved all things Disney! Following her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling Europe, the U.S., Hawaii and cruises. She was a member of the Russian Club of Shelton and a Gold Member of the Shelton, Derby and Ansonia Senior Centers. In addition to her beloved husband Donald of 61 years, she is survived by her devoted daughters, Lisa Ann Klischer of Derby and Donna (Charles) Petzold of Milford, a brother, Eugene J. Yavorsky of Derby; and a cherished grandson, Gregory Petzold of Milford and his companion, Meghan Rydzik. She was predeceased by a brother, Andrew Yavorsky. Funeral services will take place on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM in Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Avenue, Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call on Sunday, August 21, 2016, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Panikhida at 6:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Three Saints Church Maintenance Trust.
