The Life of Ruth Springer Renker

Ruth Renker, age 89 wife of George Renker and resident of Seymour, entered into eternal rest August 18,2016. She was born Aug. 15, 1927 in Derby daughter of the late Albert & Gwendolyn Springer. She graduated from Ansonia High School after which she attended Dean Junior College and eventually graduating from Columbia University School of Dental Hygiene. She worked for many years as a dental hygienist and then later worked as a secretary for The Southern CT Society for Retarded Children in New Haven. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was a lifelong active member of the Seymour Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she leaves two sons Jeffrey Renker of Seymour & David Renker and his wife Victoria Renker of New Hampshire, her sister Jean Walkinshaw of Seymour, 6 grandchildren, Kristi Bohara, Kaitlyn Smock, and Kyle, Tess, Caroline & Michael Renker, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her son Christopher. Friends may call on Sunday Aug. 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Funeral services will be held on Monday, 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with interment following in Pine Grove Cemetery. I am so sorry for your loss. I have so often thought of Ruth. It is so hard not to when I think of her best friend Dorothy. I know they will be up to organizing something. May God Bless them both. My best and sincere sympathies.
