The Life of MARJORIE JOAN SCOTT

Marjorie Joan Scott passed away on May 8, 2016 at Bright Kavanagh House.

Marjorie was born May 3, 1931 in Mystic, Iowa, the only daughter of Joseph and Mildred Stokes. She was married to David Scott for 63 years. Marjorie devoted her life to being a homemaker and caretaker. Her heart and home were always open to anyone in need. She was happiest when surrounded by her large family. Marjorie spent much of her youth in church activities included singing in the choir and on occasion, singing on KRNT radio. She never lost her love of music and spent hours watching tennis. Marjorie faced many obstacles in her life and through it all she loved unconditionally. Perhaps love was the greatest of her gifts.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Scott, Shonna (Ralph) Jackson, Stephanie Shull, Sharon (Mark) Carper, Shelly (Gary) Ross, David (Shannon) Scott, Kim VerSteegh, and Jeff Scott; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, brother, Jack Stokes; sister-in-law, Shirley Nordmark and one niece. She will be greatly missed.

According to Marjorie’s wishes, cremation will occur and a private graveside memorial will be held.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Bright Kavanagh House.
