The Life of Helen Karlac Skrobat


Helen K. Skrobat, age 96 a lifelong Seymour resident, entered peaceful rest on July 2, 2016 at Shady Knoll Health Center; she was the beloved wife of the late John Skrobat. Mrs. Skrobat was born October 21, 1919 in Seymour, daughter of the late Samuel and Henrietta (Zurry) Karlac. She was retired from Hershey Metal Corp. Helen was a Communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church; she was a Past President of the Seymour Garden Club, Past President of Griffin Hospital Auxiliary, she was also a Corporator of Griffin Hospital, and was a 30 year volunteer there. Helen was a Past Matron of Olive Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Past Grand Matron of Order of Eastern Star of CT, and was a General Grand Chapter Committee Member of Eastern Star Cancer Research. Mrs. Skrobat leaves her loving family including, a son John Skrobat (Joan) of Branford, her daughters, Kay Marino (Joe) of Beacon Falls, and Diane Berritto of Seymour; her sisters, Ann Ajello of Seymour and Rose Miles of Oxford, 4 granddaughters and 9 great granddaughters. A Memorial Service of Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Church Street, Seymour. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. There are no calling hours. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home 161 W.
