The Life of Anne Fisher

ANNE BARABASCH FISHER AUSTINTOWN TOWNSHIP - Private services were held for Anne Barabasch Fisher, 91, who passed away early Tuesday at Briarfield at Ashley Circle. Anne was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Martin and Katherine (Terimi) Barabasch. Anne had worked for Truscon Steel in the billing department from 1949 until 1954.
She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Anne was also a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church. She was well known as the “Cookie Lady” because of her love of baking. She leaves four daughters, Linda Anne Syphard of South Carolina, Sandra Lee (Kevin) George of Boardman, Deborah Jean Wollitz of Youngstown and Pamela Sue (Mark) Steele of Newton Falls; as well as eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ralph H. Fisher, whom she married Sept. 10, 1949. Ralph passed away March 4, 2011. Anne was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Martin Barabasch; and two sisters, Katherine Lindert and Elizabeth Rodney. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Anne’s memory to the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in North Jackson.
