The Life of Harold H Watson Sr.

Mr. Harold Herbert Watson, 83, passed away at his Wetumpka, AL residence on Thursday, June 16, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Marie Barnes Watson in 1998.

Graveside Services will be held at Lafayette Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette, LA on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. with Michael Green officiating. Services are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.

Mr. Watson was born and raised on a cotton farm in Earle Arkansas. He later worked in a machine shop, until starting his own business as an electrical power line contractor, which he ran from 1964 until he retired in 1985. During this time, he was also involved in the Red Brangus Cattle Farming business, and was past president of the American Red Brangus Association, Louisiana Cattleman''s Association and the National Cattleman’s Association. In 1995, he built his dream home in Wetumpka, Alabama and resided here until his death. He was a devoted lifetime member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by four sons, Harold H. (Julie) Watson, Jr. of LaCyne Kansas. Douglas M. (Nell) Watson of Longville. LA, Danney W. (Debbie) Watson of Wetumpka and Larry K. (Priscilla) Watson of Houston, TX; daughter Mona M. (Jimmy) Woodall of Tallassee; brother, Don Carlos Watson of Mt. Ida, AR; sister Hazel Mae Baudoin of Lafayette, LA; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a church of your choice or needy family.
