The Life of JOHN EDWARD MCKOWEN
John (Jack) McKowen, 63, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, at Taylor House-Unity Point in Des Moines. He was born in Knoxville, IA on October 11, 1952, to Viola and John McKowen.
Jack enjoyed playing ping pong, backgammon, horse racing and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. He was a Cement Mason.
Jack is survived by his daughter; Michelle (Joe) Corbin; grandchildren, Madison, Isabella and Sophia; sisters, Jeannie Visser, Mary Ann Chapler and Donna Lutz; as well as a host of other beloved family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, April 26 at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Jack.
