Robert L. Carpenter, 94, died on April, 12 in Phoenix, AZ.
Born to Fred and Rose (Anderson) Carpenter, December 17, 1921, he lived most of his life in Des Moines, IA. Bob is survived by his spouse Charlene (Spinney), three children Ken, Linda Walker (Tom), of McKinney, TX, and Jeff, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Darrell (Carol) of Perry, GA and sister-in-laws Betty (Clarence) and Polly (Virgil) both of Des Moines. Bob follows in death his first wife Ila (Williams) of 44 years, and second wife Diane (Heide) of 11 years, daughter Sharon Ann, sister Pauline (Baker) and brothers Clarence and Virgil.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 18, at 11 am., at Highland Memorial Garden, Des Moines. Because Bob served in the 7th Fleet Intelligence in WWII in South Pacific, graveside military honors will be held by the Navy.
