The Life of Dorothy F. Jordan

TALLMADGE -- Dorothy F. Jordan (Dode), 83, passed away from Alzheimer''s disease on March 24, 2016. Born in Akron, Dode was a lifelong resident of the Akron area. Dode was a career focused woman, working at Roadway Express in the data processing department in the early 1950s during the infancy of the IT age. She then placed her career on hold to devote 100% of her efforts to raising her three children. Dode then returned to work full time, retiring from the Akron Board of Education in 1994. Mom was a member of First Congregational Church in Tallmadge. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing, and was a fabulous cook. She was an artist through her paintings, charcoal sketches and photography. She loved playing and working outside and all things of nature. Mom''s children will remember her the most for planning and arranging our annual summer vacation; providing us with great memories that will last a lifetime. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Jordan, her parents, Harold and Martha Wolfe. She is survived by her sisters, Diane Hansson, Norma Whetstone; brothers, John Wolfe and Michael Wolfe; daughter, Julie Jordan of Melbourne, Florida; sons, Todd A. Jordan and Ross H. (Tonya) Jordan, both of Tallmadge; grandchildren, Zachary and Katie. A special thank you to Stephanie, Kathy, Marie, Nicole, and Jodi at Ginny''s Place at Suntree (Melbourne, Florida) for your commitment, love, and care for Mom.
