The Life of MARCIA ANN PITTMAN
Marcia Ann Pittman, 78, of Des Moines went to heaven on April 7, 2016 from complications of a brain injury. She is survived by her children, Paul Steven Pittman, Jr., Todd Michael Pittman, Shawn Maureen Leighton and Shelley Ann Pittman; grandchildren, Taylor Scott Leighton and Tanner Stephen Leighton; sister-in-law, Sharon Weiss; as well as a large extended loving family and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Paul George Pittman; parents, Joe and Doris Barloon; brother, Donald Barloon; and brother-in-law, Thomas Pittman.
After working as an operator with AT&T for 20 years, Marcia was forced to retire when her children would not stop calling for time, date and weather. She was an avid bowler, gardener and cook whose fried chicken will be dearly missed. Marcia died on National Beer Day - it is beyond fitting that Marcia went to heaven to have her first beer in paradise.
A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16 Iles Funeral Homes – Dunn''s Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 6567 Bloomfield Road, Des Moines, IA 50320.
