The Life of Roy Warren Tidmarsh

Roy Warren Tidmarsh, age 62, owner of Tidmarsh’s Home Bake Shop on Westfield Avenue, Ansonia, fell ill shortly before Noon at his store and entered into eternal rest Jan. 25, 2016 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was born Nov. 9, 1953 in Derby, son of the late Clifford & Lois Tallberg Tidmarsh. A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Roy opened his bake shop in 1976. He also worked at V.A.R.C.A. He was a former president of the Board of Directors at Valley Emergency Medical Services, a member of New Haven County Emergency Plan, a member and past chairman of B.O.A.T., a member of A.R.M.S. and The Ansonia Fire Police, former chairman of the Ansonia Board of Apportionment and Taxation, a sheriff for The City of Ansonia, and member of Ansonia’s Republican Town Committee. Roy was a member & trustee of Eagle Hose Hook & Ladder Co. No. 6 in Ansonia and also a social member of The Fountain Hose Fire Co. Roy was a member and past president of the Board of Directors at Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia. He was a member and trustee at The First United Methodist Church in Ansonia, where he also played the organ on Sunday. Roy was a member of The King Hiram Masonic Lodge #12 in Shelton, CT., where he also served as lodge organist. Roy leaves his brother Frederick L. Tidmarsh& his wife Beverly of Ansonia. He is also survived by 2 nieces, Amy Foster and Erin Appolonia, and 2 great nieces. He was an uncle of sorts to dozens more. Friends may call on Friday, Jan. 29th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The First United Methodist Church, 47 Franklin St. Ansonia, with Masonic services beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at church on Saturday, Jan. 30th at 10:00 a.m., with burial following in Pine Grove Cemetery. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, has been entrusted with arrangements. ( In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of the life of Roy W.
