The Life of Shirley Reddick

Shirley M. Reddick Shirley Reddick was born in Akron, Ohio on September 10, 1942 to Willie and Wilhelmina Reddick. God blessed Shirley with talent for art. Those who knew her knew she loved to draw and do crafts with her grandchildren. At an early age, she became a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and was baptized.She attended Akron Public Schools, Howe Elementary, Thornton Junior High School and received her diploma from South High School. She made the Dean''s List and received her Diploma from Wooster Business College in 1991. She was employed with Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. The children loved her and her cooking. She loved it when they told her that she cooked better than their moms. She retired in 2005.Shirley was preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, Larry Reddick; her aunts, who were more like sisters, Helen and Rosalie. She leaves behind those who will always love and remember her, daughters, Tawanda (Keith) Thomas, Shana Reddick; son, Dion Reddick, all of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren, Porsha Brock, DeVonte (Leitia) Simpson, Dominique Evans and Daekwan Sanders, all of Akron, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Ayson Brock and the newest addition, Milana Marie Simpson; cousins, other relatives and friends.Service will be held YESTERDAY, January 8, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307, Min. Theresa Farr eulogizing and Minister Marshall L. Turner officiating. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 12 Noon until time of service. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1435 Hilton Dr., Akron, OH 44313
