James A. "Jim" Griglione, 92, beloved husband of Peg Griglione and the late Evelyn M. Griglione; devoted father of Mark (Noy) Griglione, John (Carolyn) Griglione, Barbara (Mike) Clemens, Jim (Margaret) Griglione and the late Richard Griglione; dear brother of Anne Sposeto, John Griglione and the late Peter Griglione, Elaine Griglione, Marie Dorf, Barbara Huss & Adala Amodeo; loving grandfather of Karen (Kevin) Martin, Michelle (Rob Baker) Griglione, Tony Griglione, Kathy Griglione, Kristin (Andrew) Herrera, Melissa (Scott) Nelson, Mike Griglione, Elizabeth Clemens and Richard (Richie) Griglione; great-grandfather of Justin, Drew, Ben & Stephanie Martin, Penelope Baker, Alice & Abby Gathogo, Blake & Brooke Nelson and Camila Herrera. Passed away January 5, 2016.
Jim was a WW II veteran serving in the US Navy. He is retired from the Des Moines Police Department.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Avenue followed by burial at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
