P.W. STEVENS.

Patterson Walker Stevens, who has resided in this city for the past eighteen years since he came to Johnson county, passed from earth life at the home in this city or his son, Charles Stevens, on Thursday, the 13th of April. He was bom in the beautiful Mohawk Valley of New York, at Herkimer, in 1825, settled at Kalamazoo, Mich., 35 years ago, from which place he came to this county 18 years ago. He married Miss Martha Jane Hazelwood, of Herkimer. They  had eight children, four of whom are living. The mother died six years ago. Mr. Stevens was not a member of any hurch but he was a thorough Christian and was loved and respected in the community by those who knew him. The family have the sympathy of all in their bereavement. The funeral was on Saturday at the house and was conducted by. the Rev. R. V. Maloney. The interment was in the Olathe cemetery. Mr. Stevens was 80 years, 6 months-arid 11 days old at the time of his death.
