The Life of Samuel Sifers

DEATH OF SAMUEL SIFERS.

Samuel Sifers died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Chas. Hoover, Friday at 11 p. m. The funeral was held at. the Church of the Brethren Sunday afternoon, Rev. Zook officiating assisted by Rev. H. F. Crist.

 Samuel Sifers was born March 31, 1833 in Champagne Co., Ohio. He was married to Julia Ritter March 8, 1863, to which union five children, three sons and two daughters, were born, all of whom survive him.

Thev resided in Ohio until 1884, when with his family he moved to Olathe, where he lived with his wife until her death which occurred March 2, 1909.

He  was well-known here. Since then he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Chas. Hoover, until his death on December 19, 1913. The children are: Mrs. Chas. Hoover, Sherman'' and Frank Sifers, Olathe; Robert of Kansas City and Mrs. Jessie Wilkes, Cordova, Alaska. Four sisters and one brother survive: Mrs. Maggie Harsh, Olathe ; Mrs. Ellen Hollinger, San Jose, Illinois; Illinois; Mrs. Rachael Shafer, Urbana, Ohio; ;Mrs, Sarah Pence, Urbana, Ohio, and Reuben Sifers, Springfield Ohio.
