The Life of Rebecca Phillips
In Memoriam.
Died in Olathe, Kansas, Wednesday, April 11th, 1888, Mrs. Rebecca Phillips, in the 57th year of her age. Mrs. Phillips was born in Washington, Fayette county, Ohio, Dec. 26th, 1831; she was the second daughter of Dr. Jeptha and Julia Davis. In early girlhood she was converted, and united with the Methodist Church and lived a consistent Christian life ever afterwards. February 20th, 1849, she married the late Rev. T. H. Phillips, with whom she lived happily, braving with patience the trials of an itinerants life. She died in peace at her home in Olathe, Kansas. For her, "To live was Christ, and to die was gain." "We sorrow not as those who have no hope."
