The Life of John O'Conner

After a long Illness our excentric old tailor, John O. Conner, died on last Friday morning at five o'clock. He had been a resident of Olathe for about three years, and was well known by most every body. Unfortunately for the old man he was at times addicted to the cup that inebriates, but was always quiet and peaceable and a good citizen.  ln his younger days he had wooed the muses, and had in his possession at the time of his death a volume of his own poems that possessed more than ordinary merit. For some weeks he lay alone during his sickness in his litlie tailor  shop, receiving only such atteution as chanced to drop  in,  until finaliy  a man was employed to wait on regulary, and shortly before his death he was removed to the house of Mr Wilcox, where he  received all the attention could be bestowed upon him until his last moments. His family were notified of death and his wife and daughter arrived on Monday to perform the last offices for their deceased husband and parent. Mr. O'Connerr was 64 years of age.
