The Life of Delbert William Messerschmidt

Former Emporia resident Delbert William Messerschmidt died Wednesday, May 16, 2007. He was 67. Mr. Messerschmidt worked for Carl Seaton of Seaton Van Lines for 33 years.
He was born July 22, 1939, in Fredonia. Mr. Messerschmidt is survived by his wife, Shirley Messerschmidt, of the home; three children, Deanna Messerschmidt, Kimberly Geiss and David Messerschmidt, all of Olathe; one brother, Marvin Messerschmidt of Emporia; three sisters, Donna Hammond of Emporia, Sylvia Kaiser of Garden City and Una May Foster of Tulsa, Okla.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. two brother's, Clements Messerschmidt ,LeRoy Messerschmidt, died earlier. The funeral was held Tuesday at McGilley and Frye Funeral Home in Olathe. Burial was in Olathe Memorial Cemetery. The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association and sent in care of the funeral home, 105 E. Loula St., Olathe, KS 66062.

Loula St., Olathe, with burial following in Olathe Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
