The Life of John W Pitts

Died - Saturday, April 29th at 7 o'clock p. m at his resident, John Pitts 56 years.

The funeral took place Tuesday, May 2nd at 2 o'clock p. m. under the auspices of Harmnony Lodge No 84 I. O. O. F. of this city.-

Mr. Pitts was at the time of his death engineer at the water works. Saturdav evening at seven o'clock he suddenly dropped dead from his chair while smoking his pipe A. physcian was summoned but life was extinct from the effect of heart disease.

Mr. Pitts has lived in this city since 1869. He was a member of Co. B. 134th Ohio Vol. infantry during the war and was honorably discharged from service. He was a member of Franklin Post 68 of this city and also a member of Harmony Lodge No. 84 I. O. O. F. He leaves a widow and four children: three daughters and one son, Elmer Pitts, who has been living in Chicago. The daughters are Mrs. J. E. Marshal, at present living at Rosedale, Mrs. Ed. Franz living in Kansas City, and Emma Pitts who lives at home with her mother. Mr. Pitts was an honest and industrious man and an excellent citizen and the announc ment of his his death is received with sadness by numerous friends.
