The Life of Sarah Jeanette Neal

Death of Mrs. Neal. -

Fell asleep in Jesus, Mrs. Jane Neal, wife of John Neal, at her residence two miles north-east of Olathe. Mrs.Neal's maiden name was Jane Wilson - was born on the 19 day of March, 1807, in Washington co. Pa., and died on Dec. 2nd, aged 80 years 8 months and 13 days. She united with the Presbyterian Church in early life at Buffalo Pa., of which Dr. Andersoii was pastor, the grandfather of our Congressman, John A. Anderson
In the year 1827 she emigrated with her parents to Sidney Ohio, where she became the wife of John Neal. In the fall of 1887 the family emigrated to Olathe, where they have resided ever since. Mr. and Mrs. Neal celebrated their golden wedding not more than five years ago; few families have been so highly favored; blessings attended them all their lives, and they also proved a great blessing to others. Mrs. Neal was a member of the Presbyterian Church for more than 65 years. God's promises were verified to her, "with long life will I bless thee", spared to a ripe age, full of hope and faith, blessed with loving children and grandchildren. In her last sickness all but one of her children were present. She calmly bid them farewell and fell aslesp in the full assurance of the faith and a blessed, hope of a blissful life beyond the grave.
Her funeral was attended by a large concourse of sympathizing and mourning friends. Her remains were softly laid in the silent tomb in the Olathe cemetry.
