The Life of L Kirk Myers

MRS. MYERS DEAD

The death of Mrs. L. Kirke Myera occured at Chanute, Kansas, October 20, following a surgical operation. She was the second daughter of Dr. and Mrs. T. H. Phillips, was born at Coumbus, Ohio. July 20, 1862. Previous to her marriage she resided with her parents in this city.

Mrs. Myers possessed those womanly virtues that made her a favorite with a her acquaintances. She was an accomplished musician and in former years frequently entertained Olathe audiences at musical functions with her superb contralto voice. She leaves a husband, O. C. Myers, who was raised here, a daughter. Miss Ludie, Mrs. W. C. Elder of Olathe, Mrs. G. F. Stiehl of Salt Lake City, Utah, who are her sisters and.J. H. Phillip of Los Angeles, Cal., a brother. The funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence of W. C. Elder on south Kansas avenue conducted by Mrs. Myer's former pastor Rev. A. R. Maclean assisted by Rev. Henderson in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends.

The funeral of Mrs. O. C. Myers was attended by many relatives and friends from out of town, among whom were Dr. and Mrs. J.Davis of Ottawa. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Turner of Lawrence. Dr. S. H. Anderson of Kansas City, T. J. Templer of Kansas City. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Noteman of Kansas City, Mr. and Mrs. Barry Fulton of Kansas City, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones of Kansas Citv, Mrs. Bettie Myers of Kansas City, Mr. and Mrs. Heher Jones of Greenfield, Ohio. Mrs. J. W. Ingram of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, Herbert Noteman of Washington. D. C, Mrs. I. D. Bochert of Chanute, Kansas.
