The Life of Isaac McGinnis

ISAAC MCKINNIS.

On Sunday morning at 4 o'clock. Isaac McKinnis a farmer of Olathe township died at his home of what the attending physician had diagniosed as acute infectious cholecystitis. Mr. McKinnis had been sick for about a week at the time of his death. He was 59 years of age. There was an autospy performed by Drs. Moberly and Mills which verified the diagnosis of the attending physician; the gall duct was found entirely obliterated and also part of the biliary duct. Mr. McKinnis came to Johnson county many years ago in company with Allen and William Johnson, from Mississippi where all three of them had been held as slaves before the war. Mr. McKinnis owned his farm and leaves a wife and five children to mourn his departure. He was highly respected among his own people and by his neighbors as well. He was a steady, sober and industrious man and tended strictly to his own business. The funeral was held from the African Baptist church at 2 o'clock, Monday, the pastor of the church. Rev. Mr. Claw officiating.
