The Life of Luther R Pinkerton

Luther R. Pinkerton Dead.

Died, on the morning of May 27,1899, Luther R. Pinkerton. after a lingering illness of more than three years. He was sixty-five years of age.
Mr. Pinkerton was born in Lincoln county, Tennessee, and removed with his father's family to Randolph county, Ill., in 1845 where his father, at the age of eighty-eight, and one brother and one sister still remain. He was a mem ber of the United Presbyterian church at the time of his death.
In 1860 Mr. Pinkerton was married to Eliza M. Robinson in Coulterville. Ill. who with their five children survive him.
In May, 1864, he enlisted in the vol unteer service at Sparta, Ill., and was honorably discharged  in October of the same year.
In 1869 he removed to Olathe, remaining in Johnson county ever since. He was always a staunch Republican, and up to the time of the commencement of his illness alway took an active part in politics. The funeral service was held at the family residence, conducted by the Rev. A. V. Stout, on the 28th, and was followed to the tomb by a large concourse of neighbors and friends.
