IN MEMORIAM.

Rev. Berry N. Stephenson was born near Greensboro, North Carolina, March 18, 1824, married Nancy A. Green May 3. 1846; of this union were born three children, two of them having died several years ago, the survivor being J. A. Stephenson of this city. He removed with his family to Johnson County, Kansas, in 1868, living on a farm near De Soto for several years, and afterward engaging in the jewelry business in Olathe. The mother of his children died at Olathe, October 17, 1894, and he afterward married Catherine J. Wilson, who survies him. At the time of his death which occurred August 18, 1906, he had been a minister of the M. E. church South for more than forty-five years. He was a good citizen, a kind husband an indulgent father, a true man and a christian.
