GOING ONE BY ONE.
Archibald M. Spencer, an old resident of Olathe died at his home on south Water street Sunday night. The funeral was held from the home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. C. C. Bentley of the Christian church.
 
The deceased was born in Hampshire county, Va., in 1833. In 1857 he was married to Miss M. J. Sandy and to this union were born three children, Mrs. S. L. Sabeey Price of Hunt City, III., Mrs. H. S. Hoggins and Robert Spencer of Johnson county.
 
Mr. Spencer enlisted in Co. A 118th Illinois regiment and served with, honor to the close of the war. With his family he came to Kansas in 1880 and settled in Johnson county. He suffered a stroke of paralysis seven years ago which left him an invalid. His faithful wife cared for him tenderly until the death messenger came for him and one more soldier of the union joined the Grand Army beyond.
